Job description

Job Title: HR Systems Consultant

Location: Isle of Man, UK or remote

Who We Are

Lemon Platypus is a trailblazing consultancy that specializes in elevating the HR capabilities of small and medium-sized businesses. We partner closely with our clients to handpick, implement, and refine the ideal HR systems that boost their operational efficiency—systems like Hibob and Employment Hero are just the beginning. Our mission is to ensure businesses can concentrate on their core—growth and team nurturing—while we handle the complexities of HR systems.

The Opportunity

Do you geek out over a well-oiled HR system? Dream of helping teams work smarter, not harder? If you're nodding, you might be exactly who we're looking for! You don’t need to have been a consultant before – what matters most is your passion for HR tech and your knack for solving real-world HR challenges. In this role, you’ll be the bridge between clients and their ideal HR systems, working hands-on with platforms like HiBob, Employment Hero, and Rippling to ensure seamless, stress-free implementations.

You’ll get to collaborate directly with clients to understand their goals, configure their systems, and ensure they’re getting the absolute most out of their tech. Your blend of HR experience (generalist or specialist) and tech-savvy skills will be key to helping clients thrive. Whether you’re troubleshooting, training, or optimizing, your mission is simple: make HR easier and better, one system at a time.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities

Client Onboarding & Implementation:

  • Lead clients through smooth HR system implementations from start to finish. This means learning their needs inside-out and turning those requirements into streamlined workflows on platforms like HiBob, Employment Hero, and Rippling.

  • Configure systems to match client goals, even implementing directly on behalf of providers. You’ll be hands-on, creating a great first impression of the system and ensuring everything works like a charm.

HR System Provider Collaboration:

  • Work closely with HR system providers, becoming an extension of their team and learning the ins and outs of their platforms. You’ll be in the loop on the latest updates, helping clients make the most of new features and functionalities.

  • Act as a feedback bridge between clients and providers, sharing insights to continually improve platform performance and client satisfaction.

Problem Solving & Optimization:

  • Dive into HR challenges and figure out the best ways to translate these into efficient, user-friendly workflows within the system.

  • Spot opportunities for improvement, suggest configurations that optimize HR processes, and keep an eye out for ways to make things run even smoother.

Training & Relationship Building:

  • Guide clients through the onboarding journey, making sure they understand their new system and feel comfortable using it from day one. Whether it’s running training sessions, presenting features, or providing support, you’ll be there to empower them every step of the way.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and HR system providers alike, serving as a go-to resource, trusted advisor, and enthusiastic supporter of their success.

Continuous Learning & Adaptation:

  • Stay curious and proactive about learning. Dive into new systems, tools, and updates, and be ready to apply that knowledge quickly. Your ability to adapt and learn will keep you at the forefront of HR technology and implementation best practices.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Keep project plans, system configurations, and training materials clear and organized. Create regular status updates, so clients always know where things stand, and document everything for future reference and continuous improvement.

Experience We’re Looking For

 HR Experience:

You bring 3+ years in HR, whether that’s as a generalist or a specialist (think benefits, payroll, recruitment, or employee relations). You've got a solid foundation in HR and understand the ins and outs of the challenges teams face.

HR Tech Know-How:

Ideally, you’ve implemented HR systems before, especially platforms like HiBob, Employment Hero, or Rippling. You know what it takes to get a system running smoothly and are comfortable learning the details of new platforms quickly.

Tech-Savvy HR Mindset:

You get how HR processes work and, more importantly, how to optimize them with the right tech solutions. Your focus is always on making things easier, faster, and more effective for HR teams and employees.

Fantastic Communicator & Relationship Builder:

Talking with clients, understanding their needs, and translating those into practical solutions comes naturally to you. You’re approachable, articulate, and know how to make people feel comfortable—even when it’s their first time using a new system.

Organized & On Top of It:

You’ve got project management chops, meaning you can juggle tasks, set priorities, and keep projects moving smoothly, even when things get busy.

Quick Learner with an Eye for Detail:

You’re analytical and love figuring out the “why” behind a problem, then getting to the best solution. Your attention to detail helps you spot issues before they become problems, and you’re proactive about finding ways to improve.

If you're someone who loves HR and tech equally, can manage details while keeping the big picture in mind, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, this role could be a perfect fit!
